District heating plant, Rodeneck/Rodengo – Vill/Villa
Project description
On the basis of a feasibility study with the compilation of detailed data on households, the community of Rodeneck, the decision was made to expand the existent district heating plant for the energetic utilization of biomass to include the entire area of the village of Vill. Overall planning for the district heating network (approx. 4.5 km) and for the biomass thermal power plant was carried out, as well as for mounting and initial operation of the heat transfer station for delivery of thermal energy to the final customers.
The design of the thermal power plant is based on a two-boiler variant with the existent biomass boiler to cover the base load and an oil-fueled boiler for peak loads. The biomass boiler has a rated capacity of 850 kW and the heating oil-fueled boiler has a rated capacity of 3,500 kW. The heating oil boiler has already been scaled for maximum output.
