New construction of kindergartens in the Hermann-Delago-Strasse, Bruneck / Brunico
Project description
In place of the existent German-language kindergarten, two new kindergartens – each with four sections – and a daycare facility for 20-25 children were erected. The existent kindergarten and the former community building yard were demolished to make way for them. The planning of the two kindergartens won the prize of the 2002 Architectural Competition. The two kindergartens are connected with each other by a common main entrance; they thus represent a unified building in appearance. The building is arranged at an angle (to the south and to the east) for the optimal orientation and illumination of all group rooms. An indoor staircase connects all of the stories of the kindergartens with each other, thus ensuring smooth operation within the building. One can also take the stairs to get to the basement floor and to the roof terrace.
