Building M, Starnberg
Project description
Building M consists of two residential areas which are connected by a common basement and a common underground parking garage. The project achieves notable clarity through the choice of materials: Exposed concrete on the exterior, oak wood in the interior. Individual interior vertical and bracing walls are coupled with the flat roof via stainless steel components. The ground floor seems to stand on stilts. At the same time, the basement is harmoniously divided from the terrain, thus guaranteeing natural illumination in all of the rooms. The underground parking garage (designed without supports) has nearly 200 square meters of area and is accessed via a 20-meter-long tunnel ramp. It thus virtually disappears into the garden landscape above.
