Music school, Bruneck / Brunico

General renovation and expansion. The challenge of this project is to integrate the structure into the existent historical ensemble of buildings, including the Ragen House, the church, the cemetery, as well as the planned expansion of the cemetery. It comprises 36 class rooms / auditoriums for 2,000 music students.
Construction was carried out while the school was in operation. The music school's activities were relocated. During this period, the building was subjected to a general overhaul and renovation. Major activities included: An expansion of the top story, installation of a new roof (a steel-and-glass structure) over the inner courtyard, installation of an additional staircase, and reconstruction of the existent staircases. During this phase of the project, the DSV pillars were installed to underpin the existent building. After completing the reconstruction measures, the music school resumed operation and the expansion (after excavation) and connection of the add-on to the existent building were carried out.
