Provincial vocational school for trade and industry, Bozen / Bolzano
Project description
The new construction of the provincial vocational school for 1,500 pupils as an intra-urban project on the old exhibition grounds was preceded by the demolition of the existent school building. The project was conducted in five constructional phases. In order to maintain operation of the school, the existent exhibition pavilion was adapted for temporary use. Construction was carried out in a walled excavation pit, with securing of neighboring buildings by means of underpinnings. After completion of the new structures with a volume of 82,000 cubic meters in first constructional phase, they were placed in operation. The structure of the second constructional phase (74,000 cubic meters) commenced immediately after completion of the first constructional phase, where instruction had already begun again.
