Social housing, Göttingen
Project description
In the German state of Lower Saxony, a total of four three-story apartment houses with 51 units designed in wood were planned and executed for the city of Göttingen in the Albrecht Thaer Weg. On behalf of the executing company RUBNER Objektbau, Bergmeister carried out the approval planning, execution planning for the structural engineering of the solid construction (foundation), wood construction, and the steel construction (fire escape stairs).
For the near-surface foundation by means of floor slabs, the subsoil had to be improved and frost-proofed by soil replacement and appropriate compaction.
The wood structure consists of prefabricated wood walls in post-and-beam construction which were largely pre-installed at the factory. Bracing floor walls incorporated cross-laminated timbers. The ceilings were designed as single-axis stressed stacked board components.
